Microsoft with Kathmandu Engineering College “Microsoft Student Partner Program”
Microsoft Student Partner (MSP) Program is a worldwide recognizable program conducted by Microsoft. It selects the outstanding students from around the world who are passionate about technology, eager to learn and share their technological knowledge amongst their community. This recognition is once in a lifetime opportunity to help students develop real world skills, enhance their communication and leadership skills along with technical expertise. Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) Nepal located at Khichhapokhari, Kathmandu runs this program in our country. All the students who are pursuing their education at colleges that has Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with MIC Nepal are eligible to apply. KEC, being one of MICNIC College has benefited students from this program. Only few applicants are selected and awarded this status for one academic year from July to June end. During this time, the MSPs act as an official representative of Microsoft at his/ her college.
MSPs are the bridge between their college and Microsoft. They are dedicated and work hard to undertake many activities, learn from it. They share this knowledge with their fellow students by running workshops, hosting tech events etc. You get the chance to learn about latest Microsoft tools and technologies before any other students accesses it, participate in different trainings conducted monthly, volunteer in tech events and competitions organized by MIC. Being an MSP, I have boosted confidence in me to present in front of mass, gave me opportunity to work closely with my department as well as connect with different people to discuss my ideas and get feedback. The whole one year MSP journey was filled with fun and excitement.
